Ansbacher Law summer law clerks Logan Hopson and Bianca Papa recently attended the Circuit Judge Event hosted by the Bench Bar Fund of the Middle District of Florida and the Jacksonville Federal Court Bar Association at the Bryan Simpson United States Courthouse in Jacksonville on June 23, 2026.
The event, part of the Bench Bar Fund’s Summer Series, gave law students and summer associates a valuable opportunity to observe oral arguments before a distinguished panel of three Federal Appellate Judges: Judge Robin Rosenbaum, Judge Elizabeth Branch, and Judge Gerald Tjoflat.
During the program, attendees observed appellate advocacy in action as the judges heard arguments involving a range of complex legal issues, including criminal law, constitutional claims, administrative law, and appellate procedure. For law clerks preparing for their legal careers, the opportunity to see experienced advocates present arguments before a federal appellate panel offered meaningful insight into courtroom preparation, legal analysis, and professional advocacy.
In addition to observing oral arguments, attendees participated in a discussion with attorney Eugene Scalia, who shared insight into appellate practice and oral argument preparation. The program concluded with a luncheon and conversation with the judges, giving participants an additional opportunity to engage with members of the judiciary and legal community.
